Concept

The Blautopf VR virtual reality experience can be enjoyed in different ways. The SWR multimedia report is the easiest and quickest way to get an impression. This can be experienced from all end devices in the web browser and offers an informative and entertaining overview of all the important data, facts and myths about the cave complex.

An informative and interactive tour through the cave complexes is also easily possible with a smartphone. This augmented reality experience is available free of charge for iOS and Android in the app stores. The cave experience also offers lots of informative data on flora, fauna and the exploratory spirit of the discoverers of the Blautopf cave as teaching material.

With the Oculus Go, however, you can experience the beauty and diversity of the Blue Cave even more impressively, as only a few people have ever set foot in this place.

If that’s not enough, the mystery adventure game version for the HTC Vive gives you the chance to become an explorer yourself and explore the depths of the Blautopf on your own and maybe even meet the mystical water creature Lau…

Story

Led by expedition leader Karl, you dive down into the almost unfathomable depths of the Blautopf. Your mission is to bring important samples from the cave to the surface!

But you have to be careful – exploring caves has its pitfalls and harbors many dangers. So always be on your guard and be prepared for anything! Because the Blue Cave is said to be inhabited by a mystical creature, the beautiful Lau.

Don’t believe in ghosts? All the better, then you can plunge into the adventure of the cave world almost without hesitation!

About Blautopf VR

Special cave explorers have been exploring the Blue Cave in southern Germany for around 30 years. As it is almost impossible for normal people to enter the cave system, SWR sent a special camera team in cooperation with Tellux next GmbH, kohelet 3 and it media. The data for a 3D replica was collected there using videogrammetry in order to make the BlautopfVR virtual reality experience as realistic as possible. QM Game Consulting took on the role of Project Manager interactive as well as consulting activities.
